In a landmark case, a gay man has won his battle at the UK's highest court for his husband to receive the same pension rights as a 'wife' would enjoy. Prior to today's decision pension schemes were only required to recognise service from December 2005, which is when civil partnerships became legal. The Supreme Court's ruling is set to dramatically change the lives of thousands of same-sex couples.
