Although enhancing protection for tenants is to be applauded, the Government's latest initiative to restrict the use of Section 21 notices may be the final 'nail in the coffin' for some landlords. With the tax advantages fast disappearing the buy-to-let sector is already under pressure. The prospect now of not being able to evict a tenant unless 'concrete' evidence can be provided, could render landlords powerless to repossess their property in some situations.
